Hot, hot, hot!

Four days. That's it. This book takes place over four days but, oh, the goodness that happens in those four days is priceless. Warning: You will want to stay up later and block the world out.

Marnie and Jake unknowingly end up on the same mountain but for very different reasons. While she's there for soul searching, he's there for safety. She's there with her big dog and he's there with his big secrets. He has two rules he follows and NOT consorting with a cute blonde is one of them.

The sparks flew from the first words out of their mouths and many times I was either laughing out loud or shaking my head. As I read their story, I got to know each of them in ways that made my heart tug. She's so honest and brave and he's so scarred and selfless. Not only did the chemistry between them stay at a high level, the story itself was so suspenseful. Would she be okay? Would he be okay? Who were the bad guys? The overall question though was "Could these two make it in the real world when everything was over?" Again. More suspense.

The additional bonus of seeing the author's notes was nice but what I really enjoyed was the interview on how she came up with this story. You imagine authors sitting at home just trying to come up with a story and plot. Not this author! Read for yourself how she came up with the idea and how she started T-FLAC. Read how she sometimes researches WAY more then she needs to for her books but does it anyway. But most of all, read Jake and Marnie's story.

Love the Extras!

I love this book. It's one of my favorites by Cherry Adair. It's the story of Jake and Marnie. Jake is a member of T-FLAC, an anti-terrorist group who retreats to his mountain lair while trying to figure out who is framing him for the murders of other operatives. Marnie is up on the mountain trying to decide what she wants to do with her life now that her grandmother has died. Without giving away any of the story, I can tell you there is nonstop action, an adorable dog, really hunky men and some great sex.

This is the Enhanced version of the book that came out several years ago. I love all the extras that the enhanced version gives us. I learned some new facts that aren't in any of the other books and now have a great resource for all things Jake and Marnie and T-FLAC. I love all the photos that were included and a more in depth backstory to the characters. I would highly recommend buying the enhanced version.

Great book! And Extras

This book has everything in it. Strong hero, even if he is a little cranky (personally I liked his cranky attitude) a woman that can hold her own against him, and a smart dog! I loved reading about Jake, Marnie,and Duchess. The danger at every turn, the interaction between all three of them and how they finally got over their issue and got together. Not only is the story great, but you get the bonus of reading Cherry's notes of these great characters and interviews.

Dr. Leland Hartwell is President and Director of Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson CancerResearch Center and Professor of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington.Dr. Hartwell’s primary research contributions were in identifying genes that controlcell division in yeast, including those necessary for the division process as well asthose necessary for the fi delity of genome reproduction. Subsequently, many of thesesame genes have been found to control cell division in humans and oft en to be thesite of alteration in cancer cells.Dr. Hartwell is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and has receivedthe Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award, the Gairdner FoundationInternational Award, the Genetics Society Medal, and the 2001 Nobel Prize inPhysiology or Medicine.

Dr. Janice Fischer is a Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, where she is an award-winning teacher of genetics and Director of the Biology Instructional Office. She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Harvard University, and did postdoctoral research at The University of California at Berkeley and The Whitehead Institute at MIT. In her current research, Dr. Fischer uses Drosophila to examine the roles of ubiquitin and endocytosis in cell signaling during development.

Dr. Charles Aquadro (Chip) is Professor of Population Genetics, the Charles A. Alexander Professor of Biological Sciences, and Director of the Center for Comparative and Population Genomics at Cornell University. He obtained his Ph.D. in genetics from the University of Georgia, was a postdoc at the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences/NIH, and joined the faculty at Cornell University in 1985 where he is now a professor. He has served as President of the Society of Molecular Biology and Evolution, is an elected Fellow of the AAAS, is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for National Geographic Society’s Genographic Project, was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the WGBH/NOVA TV series “Evolution,” and has been a visiting scholar at Cambridge University (England, 1993) and Harvard University (2007). His research and teaching focuses on molecular population genetics, molecular evolution, and comparative genomics. While Drosophila is his primary research system, recent work has also involved yeast, humans, and plants. At Cornell, he teaches a university-wide course to nonmajors on personal genomics and medicine, and a major’s course in population genetics.

Dr. Michael Goldberg is a professor at Cornell University, where he teaches introductorygenetics and human genetics. He was an undergraduate at Yale Universityand received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Stanford University. Dr. Goldberg performedpostdoctoral research at the Biozentrum of the University of Basel (Switzerland)and at Harvard University, and he received an NIH Fogarty Senior InternationalFellowship for study at Imperial College (England) and fellowships from theFondazione Cenci Bolognetti for sabbatical work at the University of Rome (Italy).His current research uses the tools of Drosophila genetics and the biochemical analysisof frog egg cell extracts to investigate the mechanisms that ensure proper cellcycle progression and chromosome segregation during mitosis and meiosis.

Dr. Hood received an MD from the Johns Hopkins Medical Schooland a PhD in Biochemistry from the California Institute of Technology. His research interests include immunology, development and the development of biological instrumentation (e.g. the protein sequenator and the automated fluorescent DNA sequencer). His research played a key role in unraveling the mysteries of anitbody diversity. Dr. Hood has taught molecular evolution, immunology, molecular biology and biochemistry. he is currently the Chairman (and founder) of the cross-disciplinary Department of Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Washington. Dr. Hood has received a variety of awards including the Albert Lasker Award for Medical Research (1987), Dickson Price (1987), Cefas Award for Biochemistry (1989), and the Distinguished Service Award from the national Association of Teachers (1998). He is deeply involved in K-12 science educatiohn. His hobbies include running, mountain climbing, and reading.

Pros:
- page quality is good-- same as every hard-cover textbooks.
- Large texts so it's very easy to read, especially if you have to cram 2-3 chapters over 1 night.
- Pictures & diagrams are life-savers. They're probably the best thing about this book. You can easily understand concepts by looking at them for just a few seconds.
- book is pretty thin
- my professor literally follows the book, so if I miss a lecture or space out during class, I can just read the book and be perfectly fine for tests

Cons:
- Sometimes it gets a bit wordy. I feel like they could've worded it better for cleaner, more precised explanations (of course, after I understood the concept)

The text was pretty good. There were times where the language was confusing but overall it was good.

The only thing is that if your professor is making you buy the online homework system affiliated with this textbook, I recommend just purchasing the paper copy online. It's less than twenty dollars and you can put the chapters in your binder as you need to. And you can write all over it.

I rented the textbook from Amazon. Delivery was fast and return was easy.

Nice book

When I see how beautiful both of these people appear in this book it is so sad to think how it all ended so tragically.
That aside, the book has great content and postures that you can definitely try to use with a partner.

The only negative I have about this book and this has more to do with out it was produced than the substance of the book; is that many of the photos are cuts off in the binding of the book. That's not cool and it takes away from the photo. They need to make the photos fit the page so you can get it's entire essence.

This is a yoga book not a book about Ian's death!

Yes this was written by a couple that ended tragically. That actually has nothing to do with this book that was published years before he died. This book wasn't published afterwards to get money for them.

This book strikes a good balance as a reference. It gives you all of the information with enough description to be useful, but it doesn't go overkill and make the book weigh 14 pounds. As a web developer, I'll be keeping this handy.

Very useful book.

The book has good layout and presentation. It is easy to use and follow. It delivers reference content and it outlines some conceptual basics. Browser compatibility info is very handy since you know there are plenty of issues! A separate mobile chapter would probably be a good idea since Android and iPhone development is big these days. ...Still I would give it five stars. This seems to be the best HTML5/CSS3 reference book on the market, probably my top 2 overall HTML5 books.

Great reference book

This is an EXCELLENT reference, with a complete listing of HTML elements and CSS syntax. There are many usage examples presented, which helps to see the syntax "in action" for implementation. My favorite feature is the inclusion of notations next to those elements new to HTML5 and CSS3. This is a must-have reference to have along side your tutorials an cookbooks for web layout and implementation.
