... of this book I was excited to read something beautiful, dark

Originally being caught up in the hype of this book I was excited to read something beautiful, dark, and deep. But sadly, as much as I don't want to be negative about it I can't help but let you know there is no real depth to it. Sure its a beautifully illustrated book written by a beautiful author but that's all is. The poems are nice but its more amusing than anything really striking to the heart, its repetitive and doesn't touch past the dark imagery to any meaning or mesage. Its a good read but its really only successful because of the artwork, the help from her spouse (who happens to be a photographer), and the fact that the author has a pretty face/aesthetic.

A view into the 'Black Heart' of a visionary

Complex and highly personal, there is both a sense of immediate intimacy and the freedom of detachment achieved through gained knowledge. It is a book whose true meaning doesn't reveal itself in one sitting. How it was written is as mysterious as the text and the writer herself. I recommend this book for those that are trained in poetic and mystic sensibilities. I very much appreciated the writers decision to incorporate an introduction.

A Beautiful Conflict Of Emotion.

I was struck by the beauty of this book and dropped to my knees at the language and poetry contained inside. I cannot recommend this book enough if you want to glimpse the dark feminine face of the universe.
I loved every passage and in every poem found some phrase or dance of wording that left me jealous and astounded and inspired all at once.
